How to find us

The club is below the Odeon cinema inside the new extension to the Walnuts Shopping Centre on the High Street in Orpington. If you’re driving, pop BR6 0TW into your SatNav and get a minimum of two hours free parking at the Walnuts Shopping Centre from 6am-1am Mon-Sun (all day on Sunday). Alternatively, the nearest bus stop is less than five minutes from the gym, right outside the Walnuts Centre main entrance, where there is a regular service to and from Orpington, Bromley North, Lewisham and beyond. Orpington railway station is only 0.7 miles away. When you exit the station turn left at the main road and head down the hill past Tesco Extra, then turn left at the roundabout. Within five minutes you will see the Walnuts Shopping Centre on the left. Walk down the passage by Lloyds bank and WHSmith and you’ll see the new development.

PureGym Orpington Central members get a maximum of 2 hours free parking in the Walnuts Shopping Centre Car Park. *Parking restrictions may apply. Please check in the car park before you enter the gym. PureGym is not responsible for any parking fines.

In order to redeem the free parking please use the validation machine in the gym which is located at the "club news" point.

Once you have completed your work out and are on your way out of the gym, just put your parking ticket into the validation machine.

To confirm validation, you need to then put your ticket into the machine where you would normally pay for parking, this then validates it for the barriers to lift for free.

You are restricted to 2 hours free between 9am -4pm Monday to Saturday and on Sunday the car park is free all day.

The car park opens at 6am and closes at 1am every day, before the hours of 9am and after 4pm you can park as long as you want, if you arrive at 4.01pm you can park unrestricted until the closing time of 1am.

London Orpington Central gym reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was clean enough with staff around Cleaning stuff was on hand, unfortunately due to the shorter opening hours it means theres too many people in the gym, was difficult to get on some machines/equipment due to this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well planned and well executed The layout of the gym, although relatively unchanged is well thought out especially baring in mind social distancing. Cleaning stations are also well positioned and convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I thought it all looked very clean and tidy I thought everything looked very clean as I said in the penultimate paragraph and to be honest with you I would keep that type of cleanliness going, even if you keep containers of wet wipes to clean the machinery once this is over, if ever!
Date published: 2020-08-05
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good There are only two stair masters and one is out of use. It could be moved so both can be used.
Date published: 2020-08-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always a cleaning station near Felt a safe distance away from others at all times, plentiful supply of wipes and cleaning products

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clean, plenty of sanitiser available. First day back after Covid lock down. I can see some equipment has been moved around or removed to create more social distancing. Equipment cleaning stations have been provided for customer use( Shame it took Covid to produce them!) and I noted the staff carrying out plenty of cleaning. The gym was no where near as busy as pre lock down but I still wasn't comfortable with the amount of people in the gym but I doubt I would be comfortable with anything above single figures and you cant sustain a business on that number of people. Only selective lockers were available with most of the lockers had stickers closing them off to promote social distancing. So I was surprised to find the two next to mine had been made available and occupied when I returned having completed my session.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean and plenty of space The gym was clean and everyone was social distancing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time back since lockdown It’s good to get back on it... I’m classed as vulnerable although tbh I don’t consider myself so, had an unexpected heart attack (they tell me I’m lucky to be typing this..) that came as a surprise to everyone not least me!! That’s bad genes for you I guess. The gym was clean and there was good spacing between machines, I chose the least busy time (via the app) and I was comfortable with the amount of other members, staff made themselves busy regularly cleaning surfaces and signs everything remind all but the hard of thinking of the importance of regular clean downs and hand sanitation, not sure how it’ll work at busier times but really, if your not back at the gym yet, what’s your excuse??
